Who we are

Dancing Cricket began as an idea when Kristian and Misa saw the need and desire for people to enjoy a meal just as creative and thoughtful as eating at a restaurant, all in the comfort of their own homes.

Kristian Allen, a born and raised local Austinite, started in the food scene as a dishwasher. His identity grew alongside the city’s own changing food landscape as he became a leader in the kitchen at top restaurants in Austin such as Vox Table, Uchi, & Justine’s.

After working at esteemed Michelin guide restaurants such as Spruce and Del Popolo in San Francisco, he and Misa returned to Austin in 2021, bringing his inspiration of local produce and farm to table cooking back to his Austin roots.

Misa Mascovich is a digital marketer with experience working in ad tech, nonprofits, and film distribution. Combining her love of creation, community, and hosting with Kristian’s talents in the kitchen, Dancing Cricket was born.

Both Kristian and Misa care deeply about their communinity and the art of gathering. Through curated dining, they hope to make their own fresh mark on the Austin food scene and help anyone escape the typical for the unforgettable.
